Heavy delays after cars collide on M1

Motorists are being warned to expect delays on the Pacific Motorway this morning following a two car crash.

The accident happened northbound at Gaven, just after the Smith Street on-ramp, at 8.15am.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said the motorists involved in the crash self-extricated themselves from their vehicles.

They’re currently being assessed at the scene by paramedics.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads says at least one lane has been blocked.

Motorists are being urged to allow for extra travel time.
