After the woman’s passing, doctors raised concerns with police who set up a special strike force to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.

Following the results of a post mortem examination, detectives moved to arrest Mr Lou who was charged with manslaughter and remanded in custody overnight.

His case was mentioned briefly in Hornsby Local Court today ahead of his bail application next Tuesday.

The Chinese doctor claims to treat depression, asthma, infertility and ADHD.

His registration has been suspended.
