POLICE have closed an investigation focused on the trafficking of heroin across the Gold Coast.
Operation Mike Expand involved the investigation of a Currumbin Waters couple allegedly involved in the transportation and distribution of heroin across the tourist capital.
It will be alleged a 60-year-old man organised for the heroin to be shipped from Sydney, while a 56-year-old woman was responsible for distributing the drugs across the city.

Police will allege the couple were supplying the drugs to over thirty people, some of whom were on selling the drugs to others.
The closure last night and searches this morning have resulted in the seizure of drugs, cash, and a motor vehicle.
The duo have been charged with trafficking of a dangerous drug, possessing a dangerous drug and possessing things used in the commission of a crime and were due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.
More arrests are expected.
