Homeless man charged over Carrara robbery

POLICE have charged a homeless man over the robbery of a convenience store at Carrara over the weekend.

It’s alleged he entered the Elysium Road premises on Saturday and made demands for money and cigarettes from the store attendant.

An undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes was allegedly stolen.

A 30-year-old man was charged with enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence and robbery.

He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court today.
