Homicide squad called in after man and woman found dead

HOMICIDE detectives are investigating the deaths of two people whose bodies were found inside a unit in Sydney.

Poice said they found the bodies of a man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s inside a unit on King Street at Newtown on Friday afternoon.

Officers had been called to check on the welfare of the pair around 5.30pm.


Sadly, there was nothing police could do to revive the couple and they were pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the deaths are not yet known.

Detectives from the state’s Homicide Squad have established Strike Force Tenisonwood to investigate the deaths.

Detectives are seeking anyone with information that hasn’t spoken with police to come forward.
