POLICE have confirmed human remains have been found inside a crocodile, which was found in water north of Cairns.
The 4.3-metre estuarine croc was found at Mowbray River near Craiglie overnight and removed by officers from the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection.
It was examined by a specialist in Cairns today with human remains located inside.

Police say the croc is believed to be the one involved in the death of 79-year-old Anne Cameron.
Ms Cameron vanished from her aged care home in Port Douglas last Tuesday after going for a walk.
Police investigations continue with officers preparing a report for the Coroner.
