Hundreds of buildings lose power on the Gold Coast

MORE than 1000 homes and businesses have lost power on the Gold Coast.

The blackout hit just before 1pm and is affecting 45 streets in the heart of Nerang.

In all, 1,064 customers are without power and dozens of traffic lights are out.

It’s not yet clear what sparked the outage. Energex crews are investigating.
