There’s more than 2000 people without power in Tamborine Mountain, another 1000 in Tamborine, 385 in Beechmont and 283 in Boyland.

It’s understood the cause for most of the outages is downed powerlines from Wednesday’s brief but fierce hail storm.

Energex crews are desperately working to restore power as soon as possible.
