Karl Stefanovic’s ex-wife Cassandra Thorburn will be dusting off her dance shoes and getting ready to rumba when she appears on the reboot of Dancing With the Stars this year.
The 47-year-old children’s author and broadcaster told 1029 Hot Tomato’s Flan, Emily Jade and Christo that she took up the opportunity to star on the reality TV show as a promise to her late father.
“There are various reasons why I decided to do it, but having no regrets is the big one, and I just thought why would I not do something like this?” Cassandra said.

“My father said to me ‘if you don’t say yes to an opportunity that you NEVER thought would come up you will regret it one day’”.
The mother of three told the breakfast radio hosts that she’s “never felt so good.”
“There’s something about the endorphins when you dance,” she said.
“I have never danced but now that i’m in training I am so happy! I’m having such a great time and it makes you feel so good.”
Thorburn has been paired with 24-year-old dancer Marco, who has touched down in Australia from Italy for the dancing show.
“Look I’m not used to being intimate with young men,” Thorburn joked. “I haven’t been thrown around by a guy for some time, so you know, it may as well be a 24-year-old!”
Gold Logie winner Samuel Johnson and sporting legend Sir Curtly Ambrose have also been confirmed for the show.
Hosted by Amanda Keller and Grant Denyer, Dancing With The Stars will twirl its way onto the WIN Network very soon.
