Intensive care paramedic hospitalised after ambo flipped in Gold Coast crash

AN intensive care paramedic was lucky to escape with only minor injuries after his response vehicle was “T-boned” and flipped onto its roof at a notorious Gold Coast intersection yesterday afternoon.

The paramedic was rushing to a call-out when he was struck on Olsen Ave where it meets Central St at Arundel about 4.30pm.

Initial reports suggested the ute that struck the paramedic’s vehicle ran a red light, but it was later revealed the paramedic was negotiating a red light with its sirens activated when it was hit.

Both drivers were taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.
