The former girlfriend of deceased, convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has been arrested in the United States.
Ghislaine Maxwell was arrested by the FBI at a home in New Hampshire overnight, following ongoing investigations.
The 58-year-old is accused of helping recruit, groom and abuse minor victims of Epstein, who committed suicide in prison almost a year ago.

Some of the victims were as young as 14 at the time, according to the indictment.
She’s now facing six charges, including conspiring to entice minors to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, enticing a minor to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, conspiring to transport minors with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, transporting a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and two counts of perjury.
US Attorney Audrey Strauss says Ms Maxwell played a critical role in Mr Epstein’s offences.
“Maxwell would encourage young girls to accept offers from Epstein, to pay for their travel and education, making these young girls feel indebted to Jeffrey Epstein.
“After developing a rapport with the victims, Maxwell then tried to normalise sexual abuse with the minor victim,” Attorney Strauss said.
Ms Maxwell has reportedly had a brief appearance in court already, waiving her right to a bail hearing.
It’s understood she’ll be transferred to a jail in New York.
