Kangaroo attack: Patient covered in ‘scratches and lacerations’

A PERSON is being treated by paramedics after being attacked by a kangaroo on the Gold Coast.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately known, but it’s believed to have happened on The Parkway at Hope Island about 11.30am.

Queensland Ambulance said paramedics were on the scene, treating the patient, believed to be a woman, for “scratches and lacerations” to their stomach, back, arms and legs.


Thankfully, the patient’s injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

Queensland Ambulance said paramedics were assessing whether the patient required transport to a hospital or their local GP for treatment. They’re in a stable condition.

No further information was available at the time of writing.
