Five hospitalised after serious truck and car crash on Gold Coast

UPDATE @ 4.45 PM | Five people have been rushed to hospital following a serious truck and car crash on the northern Gold Coast this afternoon.

It happened northbound on Kerkin Road, near the Pimpama Jacobs Well Road intersection, just after 3.30pm.

Multiple paramedic crews, including high acuity response and critical care paramedics, were called to the scene.

One person, whose age and gender is not known, was trapped in one of the vehicles and had to be rescued.

In total, five people were treated at the scene for varying injuries before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said two patients were transported in a serious condition, while the other three were taken stable.

 

EARLIER @ 3.45 PM | Emergency crews are currently on the scene of a serious crash involving a tip truck and car on the northern Gold Coast this afternoon.

It happened northbound on Kerkin Road, near the Pimpama Jacobs Well Road intersection, just after 3.30pm.

According to witnesses, both the truck and vehicle have rolled and are currently on their roof, with reports at least one person is trapped.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson told myGC eight Queensland Ambulance crews are currently on scene, including three Critical Care crews.

Paramedics are assessing at least three children and two adults, including a woman in her 50s and man in his 20s.

The age and gender of the person still trapped in the vehicle is unknown at this stage.

Motorists are being urged to avoid the area, with lengthy delays expected.
