Life Savers kept busy with multiple rescues

A MAN has been taken to hospital after dislocating his shoulder at a beach on the Gold Coast.

It’s understood the 35-year-old was injured while board riding at Coolangatta about 3pm.

He was treated by Surf Life Savers on the beach before being transported to hospital.

Life Savers have been kept busy with multiple rescues in the wet weather on the Gold and Sunshine Coasts.

Main Beach on North Stradbroke Island was closed early on Saturday due to dangerous surf.

A 40-year-old woman was rescued from a rip outside the red and yellow flags at North Burleigh shortly before 10am.

A 25-year-old man also needed saving after getting into trouble between the flags in Surfers Paradise around 2pm.

Meanwhile, further north on the Sunshine Coast, a 50-year-old man was taken to hospital after colliding with rocks while surfing at Dicky Beach.
