LIVES and homes are at risk after fires caused by lightening strikes continue to burn throughout Western Australia’s Mid West.
Authorities have upgraded an alert for a series of bush fires and a watch and act has been issued.
The fires are burning on both sides of Brand Highway near Eneabba and for the 30 kilometres north of the town.

Residents have been advised to leave immediately if the way is clear and if they are not prepared for the fire.
The Department of Education said the Eneabba Primary School was on standby for evacuation.
The Brand Highway has been closed between Eneabba and Indian Ocean Drive.
