Local business helping raise funds for charity during World Breastfeeding Week

Gold Coast business Sports Bras Direct is calling on local mums to stock up on maternity sports bras during World Breastfeeding Week to help raise much needed funds for a local charity.

Owner Amy Jaffers told myGC the online retailer is running a special promotion from today through to August 7 to raise money for Mother’s Milk Bank.

“The Mothers’ Milk Bank is an incredible charity based at Banora Point and is run by a team of volunteers. They collect, screen, pasteurise and distribute donated mothers’ milk to infants where their mothers own milk is not available,” she said.

“This year we wanted to give back, and after hearing about the Mothers’ Milk Bank, we thought it was a very worthy cause.

“So we are having a week-long sale on our maternity range and will be donating 10% of each sale straight to the charity.”

World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated every year from 1 to 7 August to encourage breastfeeding and improve the health of babies around the world.
