FIREFIGHTERS have advised a local fire ban for South Eastern region will cease at midnight tonight.
QFES Acting Commissioner Mark Roche said severe fire conditions had now eased.
“Thankfully the worst of the fire conditions has passed for now and the fire bans will not be extended,” Mr Roche said.

“Those residents wishing to light a fire larger than two metres in any direction can now apply for a permit, as they would normally, via their local Fire Warden.”
Mr Roche thanked the community for their understanding and compliance during the ban.
“At the peak of fire activity on Saturday, QFES were responding to 114 separate fires across the state and cooperation from residents was paramount in ensuring we could do our best to protect people and properties in the areas affected,” he said.
