Locals to enjoy a race day at this year’s Gold Coast Show

FOR the first time ever, Gold Coasters will be able to watch live horse racing as part of the Gold Coast Show this long weekend.

With the event being held at the Gold Coast Turf Club this year, organisers have decided to host a traditional race day on Sunday (August 31) in addition to the usual show entertainment.

Gold Coast Turf Club chief executive Grant Sheather is expecting strong attendance from Gold Coast families to watch the races.

“Some people may try to back a winner or two while others will just like to watch live horse racing, as part of the fun on the day,” said Mr Sheather.

“This is an unprecedented combination of events for the Gold Coast community and represents important milestones for the turf club and the show society – a new beginning for the show and the first event of its kind to be hosted by the club.”

The Gold Coast Show is on from Friday 29th until Sunday 31st August. For more information, visit goldcoastshow.com.au/
