Teen critical after being attacked with metal vase

A young man is in a critical condition after allegedly being bashed with a metal vase at a home in Crestmead.

The horrific attack is understood to have happened at a house on Satinwood Street around 6.30am on Sunday.

Police said a 21-year-old man allegedly used the object to assault a 19-year-old man, leaving him with serious injuries to his face and head.

He was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

Following the attack, the man is then alleged to have assaulted a woman inside the home before damaging the young man’s vehicle and mobile phone.

A crime scene was established at the home, with detectives arresting a 21-year-old Waterford West man a short time later.

He was charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning bodily harm and two counts of wilful damage.
