Update @1.00pm: Northbound lanes on the M1 through Beenleigh are now open again, after a car fire incident closed them temporarily.
The fire was quickly extinguished and the car has been removed from the motorway.
It’s believed a car burst into flames while on the back of a tow truck.

There are still heavy delays heading north.
No injuries have been reported.
Paramedics were not called to scene.
Earlier @ 12.15pm: The northbound lanes on the M1 have been closed through Beenleigh, after a car fire in the middle lane.
Emergency services are on scene at the moment, trying to reopen the highway as soon as possible.
It’s believed to have happened around 12.15pm today, between exit 34 and 35 in Beenleigh.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area.
In footage sent through to myGC, fire fighters can be seen trying to extinguish the flames.
No traffic is getting through, northbound lanes are backed up past Yatala.

Two fire fighter crews were called to the scene at 12.15pm.
They were able to get the fire under control within a couple of minutes.
As at 12.40pm, one crew was still at the scene just finishing up.
