Five teens hospitalised after Helensvale crash

UPDATE @ 10.30AM | FIVE people have been taken to hospital following a major crash at Helensvale.

The accident, involving three vehicles, happened on Brisbane Road just after 8.00am.

Queensland Ambulance paramedics treated five patients, believed to be teenagers, at the scene for various injuries including abdominal and chest injuries, neck, hip and back pain.

They have since been taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in stable conditions.

Traffic is now back to normal in the area.

EARLIER @ 9.00AM | EMERGENCY crews have rushed to Helensvale this morning following a serious multi-vehicle crash.

Five teenagers are currently being treated by paramedics following the collision on Brisbane Road just after 8.00am.

It’s understood at least two or three vehicles were involved.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson told myGC the teenagers have suffered a number of injuries including abdominal and chest injuries, neck, hip and back pain.

They’re expected to be transported to hospital shortly.

Traffic is at a standstill in the area, with motorists being urged to seek alternative routes.
