Man, 20, killed in horror quad bike crash

A YOUNG man has been killed in a horror quad bike accident in Far North Queensland.

It happened at Home Hill, south of Townsville, shortly after midnight last night.

The 20-year-old was riding along McDowell Road when his bike struck a drain.

Police said the rider was thrown from the bike on impact and died at the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
