Man, 21, dies in Brisbane jail cell

A 21-YEAR-OLD inmate has died at the Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre in Brisbane.

It’s understood the prisoner was found unconscious in a shared cell on Saturday night.

Guards reportedly made the discovery at about 11.30pm.

According to AAP, prison officers performed CPR but the inmate could not be revived.

He was pronounced deceased by paramedics who arrived at the prison about midnight.

It is not known how the man died.
