Man, 24, dies after falling from ute

A YOUNG man in his 20s has tragically died after falling off the back of a ute on a remote road in southern Queensland.

Emergency services were called to scene of the accident on Narine Road at Dirranbandi, about 40km out of Durmandi, about 7.30pm last night.

Sadly, when they arrived, there was nothing they could do to save the 24-year-old man.

In a statement this morning, Queensland Police confirmed the young man was deceased when they arrived.

There were three other men in the vehicle at the time aged 25, 19 and 18.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
