A MAN has been charged over the alleged repeated sexual assault of his young neighbour in Sydney’s west.
The 65-year-old was taken into custody at a home in the Parramatta area about 6pm yesterday.
It comes after detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad began an investigation after receiving reports a 13-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted by a man known to her.

Police will allege in court that the man, who was a family friend and neighbour, sexually and indecently assaulted the girl on a number of occasions between 2011 and 2016.
He has been charged with two counts of sexual intercourse with person under the age of 10 years, and two counts of indecent assault person under 16 years of age.
The man was refused bail and is due to appear in Parramatta Local Court today.
