A MAN has been left with a busted nose after he was beaten about the head in a violent hold-up at Southport this afternoon.
It’s alleged the 36-year-old man was standing in Owens Lane around 2.30pm when he was bailed up by a 22-year-old Molendinar man who attempted to rob him of his wallet.
Police said a struggle ensued during which time the Southport man was punched several times in the face.

He managed to flee to a nearby residence and call police before going back outside and chasing the man.
While approaching Scarborough Street, the alleged offender turned around and started fighting his victim again before fleeing back to Owens Lane where he was arrested by police a short time later.
The 36-year-old man was left covered in blood and was taken to Robina Hospital for treatment to a suspected broken nose.
His attacker was charged with two counts of attempted robbery with actual violence and remanded in custody to appear in Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow, December 1.
