Man bitten on arm by snake in Brisbane

A man has been rushed to hospital after being bitten by a snake in Brisbane.

Paramedics were called to Arcadia Street at Eight Mile Plains just after 9.40am Friday following reports a man had been bitten by a snake on the arm.

The 50-year-old was treated at the scene before being transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

It is not yet known what type of snake bit the man.

Queensland residents have been warned to remain vigilant following a spike in snake bites in recent weeks.
