A MAN and boy have been arrested and charged with acts intended to main, disfigure or disable after the pair allegedly bashed their 70-year-old neighbour with a stick and baseball bat in a brutal brawl.
The dramatic scenes played out on a usually quiet street in Laidley, in the Lockyer Valley, on Saturday.
It was around 5pm when police say a group of people became embroiled in a shouting match on Wyman Court.

The dispute quickly erupted into a brawl, during which a 23-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy allegedly attacked a 70-year-old man.
Police said the pair were armed with a stick and baseball bat and used the weapons to assault the elderly man.
The 70-year-old sustained multiple injuries in the assault, including a fractured arm, lacerations, and bruising.
A second man, 50, was also injured in the attack. He was treated at the scene by paramedics for minor injuries.
The 23-year-old man was arrested and has since been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, serious assault of a person over 60, going armed as to cause fear and acts intended to maim, disfigure or disable.
He is expected to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on September 19.
The 16-year-old boy has been charged with the same offences and will front a Children’s Court at a later date.
