Man arrested after threatening to blow up nine NSW hospitals

A MAN’S been arrested after he allegedly threatened to blow up a number of major public and private hospitals across New South Wales.

It’s alleged that on Monday September 15 and Tuesday September 16, nine hospital and health facilities across Sydney received threatening hoax phone calls.

Officers from Central Metropolitan Region commenced an investigation into the incidents under Operation Hammerhead.

Investigators allege the calls were all made from a public payphone in Randwick.

On Monday morning, officers raided a home on Kennedy Street at Kingsford where a 30-year-old man was arrested.

He was taken to the Maroubra Police Station and is currently in the process of being charged with multiple counts of use carriage service for hoax threat.
