A MAN who sparked a cross-border police chase on Sunday night has been charged after police found two firearms, one of them loaded, in his crashed car at Tugun.
Just before midnight, police say a car failed to stop for New South Wales officers at the Kennedy Drive on-ramp to the Pacific Motorway at Tweed Heads and after crossing into Queensland, crashed at Tugun.
The 26-year-old male driver was taken into custody by Gold Coast police and, following a search of his vehicle, a loaded shot gun was allegedly located in the rear foot well, along with a rifle in the boot.
