Man charged after nurse attacked

A MAN will appear in court next week, charged with attacking a female nurse at a hospital in Sydney’s inner west.

The man allegedly assaulted the 29-year-old nurse at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Camperdown about 6am on Friday.

Police said the nurse had only just finished treating the man when it’s alleged he turned around and punched her in the face.

He was being discharged at the time, police said.

Hospital staff rushed to the nurse’s aid and called police who swooped on the hospital and arrested the man.

He was taken to Newtown Police Station where he was charged with common assault before being released on bail.

The local man is due to appear in Newtown Local Court on September 6.
