Man charged after police uncover his bizarre spot for hiding ‘ice’

A man has been charged with drug supply after officers uncovered a stash of the dangerous drug ‘ice’ hidden in his shoes.

Police made the discovery after pulling over a Hyundai Getz on Beach Road in Batemans Bay around 8.00am yesterday.

The 40-year-old man was arrested and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station, where he was charged with drug supply.

He was granted conditional bail and is due to face court on Monday 16 March.

Meanwhile, further investigations led officers to a resort in Batemans Bay where they spoke with a 44-year-old man.

Officers executed a search warrant at the property, where they seized ‘ice’, MDMA, cannabis, drug paraphernalia, gift cards and resealable plastic bags.

The man was arrested and charged with three counts of supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug and larceny.

He was refused bail and is due to face Batemans Bay Local Court today.

Inquiries are continuing.
