Man charged after shooting real estate agent’s drone

A MAN is facing a string of firearm and drugs offences after he allegedly used a gun to shoot down a drone.

Police say the frightening incident happened about 10.30am on Thursday, after a real estate agent attended a property in Burrell Creek to take aerial footage with the device.

“It’s alleged an occupant of the property used a firearm to shoot the drone,” NSW police said.

Officers were called to the home and during a search of the property they allegedly uncovered 187 cannabis plants, 20kg of dried cannabis, along with a sum of cash.

Police were then directed to a location about 5km from the property where they seized an unregistered .22 calibre rifle.

A 46-year-old man was arrested and charged with eight firearms and drug offences.

He was refused bail to appear at Forster Local Court today.
