A man has been charged after a teenager was shot while standing on the balcony of a hotel in Surfers Paradise last year.
It’s understood the victim was celebrating his 18th birthday at a complex on the corner of Cavill Avenue and the Gold Coast Highway, when he was shot in the arm shortly before 11pm on June 15, 2019.
“The 18-year-old man was standing on the balcony of a unit when a suspected firearm was discharged from a neighbouring unit, striking the man in his left upper arm,” Queensland Police said.

The teen was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
At the time, police said the shooting may have occurred following a dispute over loud music.
Following ongoing investigations, detectives today issued a 27-year-old man with a Notice to Appear on a charge of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.
He is expected to face Southport Magistrates Court on March 26.
