Man charged over alleged cocaine supply in Byron Bay

A man’s due in Tweed Heads court today, charged with the alleged ongoing supply of cocaine in Byron Bay.

The 43-year-old was arrested at a home in Ewingsdale yesterday, after officers executed a search warrant at the property.

It comes after police from the Northern Rivers Region Enforcement Squad formed Strike Force Curreeki to investigate the supply of cocaine in the Byron Bay area.

During the raid, police say the man was observed allegedly attempting to throw items off a balcony.

Officers also uncovered cocaine, cannabis and cash during the search of the home.

The man was taken to Byron Bay Police Station where he was charged with supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis, two counts of supply prohibited, obstruct/ hinder person executing warrant, three counts of possess prohibited drug and deal with property suspected proceeds of crime.

He’s been refused bail to appear at Tweed Heads Local Court today.
