Man charged over alleged hoax bomb threat at Sydney Airport

A MAN has been charged with allegedly making a hoax bomb threat at Sydney Airport.

Staff from regional airline REX reportedly received a threatening phone call just before a flight was set to depart about 5.00pm yesterday.

Local police officers and the Public Order Riot Squad rushed to the scene and searched the building, however thankfully, nothing suspcious was located.

Following inquiries, a 36-year-old man was arrested at Darling Point about 6.40pm last night.

He was taken to Mascot Police Station where he was charged with use carriage service to make hoax threat.

The man was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today.
