A QUEENSLAND man has been charged over the alleged assault of a 7-week-old baby, which has left the infant fighting for life in hospital.
The 26-year-old, from Caloundra West, was arrested by detectives from the Child Protection Investigation Unit yesterday.
It comes after the baby boy was rushed to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital with significant injuries on Saturday, August 10.

He has since been transferred to the Queensland Children’s Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The man is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today charged with grievous bodily harm.
