Man critical after falling from third-floor balcony of Gold Coast building

A man is fighting for his life, after falling from the third floor of a highrise apartment building in a popular Gold Coast tourist suburb.

Paramedics were called to Anne Avenue in Broadbeach just after 7pm on Saturday, to find the man, believed to be aged in his 20s, with a serious head injury.

He was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

Critical care paramedics were also on board.

A 26-year-old man was arrested and later charged with obstructing police and hindering a QAS officer as well as public nuisance.

Police would not confirm if the man was involved in the balcony fall or if further charges would be laid.
