Man critical after being run over by truck on Pacific Highway

A MAN is fighting for life in hospital after being run over by a truck on the Pacific Highway near Coffs Harbour.

Police say the man, believed to be aged in his 20s, was walking along the highway at Korora, north of Coffs, when he was struck by a prime mover around 5am on Wednesday.

The man suffered life-threatening injuries and was treated by ambulance paramedics at the scene before being rushed to Coffs Harbour Hospital in a critical condition.

The 37-year-old man behind the wheel of the truck was uninjured and conveyed to hospital for mandatory testing.

Police say they are investigating the incident and are yet to identify the man, who is believed to be aged in his 20s.
