Man crushed to death in horror workplace accident

UPDATE 5:20 PM | A MAN has tragically died following a serious workplace accident at Hope Island.

The man, believed to be aged in his 40s, became pinned under a forklift after it rolled at the Superior Jetties workshop near Hope Harbour Marina on John Lund Drive just before 4pm.

He was quickly freed from under the heavy vehicle but sustained life-threatening injuries in the accident.


Multiple ambulances, including the city’s High Acuity Response Unit, were dispatched to the scene.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said the patient was in a critical condition when they arrived.

A team of paramedics worked on the man for some time at the scene but sadly he could not be saved and died from his injuries before he could be transported to hospital.

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland are making their way to the scene.

The patient’s age is not known. No further information was available at the time of writing.
