Man dies after being pulled unconscious from lake

A MAN has tragically died after being pulled unconscious from a lake on the Sunshine Coast.

Emergency services were called to Currimundi Lake at Wurtulla, north of Dicky Beach, just after 7am on Sunday.

Surf lifesavers used an external defibrillator and performed CPR to try and resuscitate the man but sadly, he could not be saved.

Police said first responders performed CPR on the man for 40 minutes but he could bot be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.

It’s understood an underlining medical condition caused the man, believed to be aged in his 60s, to pass out in the water.
