Man dies after frenzied stabbing

A MAN in his 20s has died in hospital this morning after being stabbed in a frenzied attack at North Bondi overnight.

The 26-year-old was found with life-threatening abdominal and head injuries at a unit on Military Road about 12.30am.

It’s alleged a 27-year-old had entered the unit and confronted the victim before stabbing him multiple times in a fit of rage.

Neighbours raced to help the younger man and tried stemming the bleeding until police and paramedics arrived.

Ambulance officers worked on the 26-year-old man at the scene before rushing him to St Vincent’s Hospital in a critical condition.

He underwent emergency surgery overnight but sadly his injuries were too severe and he could not be saved.

In a statement, a NSW Police spokesperson confirmed the young man died on Sunday morning.

His alleged attacker was arrested at the scene and takeb to Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment to facial injuries.

He has since been released and taken to Waverley Police Station where he is expected to be charged over the younger man’s death.

Police have confirmed both men knew each other.

Officers from the Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command established an extensive crime scene, which continues to be forensically examined.
