A MAN who tumbled down a set of steps and suffered a heart attack after falling off a Lime scooter in Brisbane has sadly died in hospital.
The 50-year-old from Woolongabba was riding the electric scooter near the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) at South Bank Parklands when he fell in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
It’s understood the man went into cardiac arrest after falling down three steps and hitting his head.

Despite wearing a helmet, the man sustained a serious head injury and was rushed to Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Sadly, the man succumbed to his injuries and passed away on Thursday.
It is the first recorded death involving a Lime scooter in Australia.
The company, however, has ruled out a malfunction with the scooter.
In a statement, Public Affairs Manager Nelson Savanh said the company was “deeply saddened” to hear the news.
“We have reached out to local authorities to support however possible and stand ready to assist in any investigation.”
