A MAN has died in what is believed to have been a workplace accident off North Stradbroke Island.
It’s understood the 29-year-old man was checking shark drumlines on Tuesday morning when tragedy struck.
A search was launched after the man failed to return in the shark control vessel yesterday.

Queensland Police could not confirm exactly how the man died, however said he was found in the water near Amity Point.
A police spokesperson told myGC the death is not being treated as a shark attack.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
