Man escapes serious injury after glider comes down in paddock

A MAN has walked away with only minor injuries after his glider crashed on a property in the Scenic Rim, west of the Gold Coast.

The man’s white glider came down in a paddock off Pocock Road at Hoya near Boonah about 11am.

Miraculously, the male pilot and single occupant escaped serious injury.


He was able to free himself and was seen walking around the light aircraft, assessing the damage.

The man, believed to be aged in his 60s, was assessed by paramedics for a minor injury to his knee.

Queensland Ambulance said the pilot declined transport to hospital.

It was not immediately known what caused the crash.

Investigations are underway.
