UPDATE: A man remains in a critical condition after a car crash in Gaven on Thursday morning.
It’s believed around eight yesterday morning, a small hatchback collided with a sedan towing a trailer along Coolibah Crescent.
The 50-year-old sedan passenger sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

The elderly driver of the sedan was also taken to hospital with minor facial injuries.
A MAN is tonight fighting for his life in hospital following a horror two car crash on the Gold Coast this morning.
The accident happaned just before 8.30am on the corner of Coolibah Road and Banyula Drive at Gaven.
Police said initial information suggested a hatchback entered onto Banyulla drive from Coolibah Crescent where it collided with a sedan towing a trailer that was travelling north on Banyulla Drive.
It is believed that the sedan swerved to avoid the hatchback and as a result, travelled off the road and into a culvert.
Two male occupants, said to be aged 50 and 84 were rushed to Gold Coast University hospital with serious injuries.
The male passenger of the sedan suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in a critical condition, while the driver was transported there for treatment of minor facial injuries.
There is no further information available as the Forensic Crash Unit continue their investigations.
