Man fights for life after workplace accident

A MAN is fighting to stay alive after being crushed between two shipping containers in Sydney’s west.

The 65-year-old reportedly became trapped between the two 2.5-tonne containers at a packing supply warehouse on Liberty Road in Huntingwood about 7.25am on Wednesday.

Fellow workers raced to the man’s aid and managed to free him before emergency services arrived.


The man’s injuries were so severe, he needed to be placed in an induced coma at the scene before he could be taken to hospital.

He was rushed by ambulance to Westmead Hospital under a police escort with life-threatening injuries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately known.
