Man finally arrested over murder and manslaughter offences

A man wanted on warrants for offences including murder and manslaughter has been arrested in New South Wales overnight.

The 24-year-old man was arrested after crashing his motorcycle into an unmarked police vehicle in the Lake Macquarie area, around 11pm yesterday.

Officers from Lake Macquarie Police District had been trying to track the man for some days and following inquiries and public appeals, were able to track his whereabouts.

The 24-year-old is wanted as part of an investigation into the death of a 60-year-old man, who died during an attack in his home in Whitebridge back on Monday 17 December.

Two men, aged 19 and 22, have already been charged over the murder, while the man arrested yesterday remains under police guard in hospital as a precaution.
