UPDATE at 1:15 PM WEDNESDAY | A MAN accused of bludgeoning a Gold Coast father to death in Surfers Paradise has fronted court, charged with murder.
Coskun Marius, 26, was arrested in Coffs Harbour on Sunday after allegedly killing Dre Nova in a rental home on Markwell Ave on Friday and fleeing interstate.
The 38-year-old father-of-two’s badly beaten body was found slumped in a reclining chair in the lounge room of the run-down home, covered in blood.

Following his arrest, Marius – a wannabe rapper from Brisbane – was extradited back to the Gold Coast yesterday and appeared briefly in Southport Magistrates Court this morning.
He did not enter a plea during his appearance and was remanded in custody to reappear via video link on Tuesday, May 21.
Speaking to reporters outside court, Marius’ lawyer Campbell MacCallum said the 26-year-old would be fighting the charge.
“The facts are very scant at the moment,” MacCallum told reporters.
“Certainly my client is very distressed at the moment, as are the family of the deceased, and everyone’s feelings and condolences go out to the person and the family who was deceased.”

The body of Dre Nova was discovered in a home on Markwell Ave in Surfers Paradise around 5.15pm on Friday afternoon.
Police will allege he was beaten to death.

Late today, Police charged him with one count of murder.
He’s due to front Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
