Man hospitalised after ‘near drowning’

A MAN has been rushed to hospital after almost drowning on the Gold Coast this morning.

Emergency services were called to reports of a “near drowning incident” in Surfers Paradise shortly before 9am.

Queensland Ambulance said paramedics treated an adult male at the scene before transporting him to hospital.

The man was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately known.
